Growing a Vegetable Garden, Part III - Week #2 & #3

By day 14, more seeds have sprouted and it's clear to see that each vegetable or herb has it's own unique timeline and design.

With the bean sprouts below, you can still see the initial "bean" seed shape as the top of the sprout.

Week #3 or 21 days after planting, there was a good deal of growth.  Each seedling definitely has varying degrees of height and shape with the beans and sunflowers growing tallest to date.

The green beans grew at least 5" in only one week!! I guess that's part of why the Jack & the Beanstalk fable was so believable, as those beans can certainly grow tall!

It was very cool to still see the sunflower's initial hard seed as a 'top hat' on the sprout.  Those stalks are pretty strong to hold the hard seed on top as they shoot up.
Easter weekend was the time to set up the automatic water drip system for the garden, prior to planting these sprouts in the garden.... and I'll post on the results this week.
