Mother's Day 2012

In honor of my wonderful, loving, talented, fun and selfless Mom, I wanted to share some old archival photos of fun memories with Mom and our family.  We just celebrated Mom's 80th birthday in December, but Mom is eternally young in every way.

I stumbled upon this photo from Mother's Day 1963, taken in front of my Grandmother's house.  This is actually my Dad's mother, but Mom felt like a true daughter to Grandma, Agnes Jeffrey, in addition to her own mother, Ida Bolender.  Mom has a way of endearing herself to all her know her, because of her genuine caring nature and endless sense of humor.

My mother was raised in a foster home, having been brought to the house by her birth mother when she was 3 months old. My Grandmother, Ida Bolender, was a foster parent for many years and was unable to bear her own children, so she adopted my Mom later in life.  Grandma Bolender's loving and secure home (together with my Grandpa, Wayne Bolender), helped shape my mother into the wonderful mother that she is, and my Mom has always felt that God had a perfect plan giving her to the Bolender family where she was dearly loved and raised as their own.

Family is a blessing, and my mother is the biggest blessing in my life.
She is strong, gentile, beautiful inside and out and lives her life to the utmost for God.
I love you, Mom!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
